GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -- The Trine women's volleyball team finished their season with a 3-0 loss to the nationally fourth-ranked Calvin College Knights.

The Thunder fell to the Knights in straight sets by the score of 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

Freshman Emma Gaff (Hamilton/Hamilton) led the team offensively in the match with 6 kills and added two blocking assists and a service ace to her stat line as well. Fellow freshman Sarah Toles (Kendallville/East Noble) shared the team lead in blocks with Gaff by also finishing with two. Gaff would also lead the team in digs with 13.

Junior Raven Hood (Monroe, Mich./Airport) and senior Samantha Ihrie (Kendallville/East Noble) tied with seven assists apiece to lead the team.

With the loss, Trine finishes the season with a 13-13 overall record and an 8-8 conference record. They finish the season tied with Albion College for fourth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Trine, however, misses out on postseason competition to Albion because of their head-to-head record with the Britons.
