GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The Trine volleyball team fell to Calvin College on Saturday afternoon at the Van Noord Arena.

Calvin defeated the Thunder in three sets, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-10. The Knights improve to 16-0 overall and 10-0 MIAA, while Trine moves to 2-17 and 2-8 MIAA.

Sophomore Shannon Scott  (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) led the Thunder offense with four kills, while Morgan Harris (Crown Point, Ind./Merrillville) had three. Sophomore Emma Lucas (Hamilton, Ind./Hamilton) put up a match-high four blocks. Freshman Danielle Stanichuck (Troy, Mich./Athens) had a career-high 11 digs.

Calvin was led by Laura Danhoff with 14 kills, while hitting .500. Anna Kamp added 13 kills, while hitting .429. Emily Blankespoor grabbed six aces, and Kristin Vyletel and Danhoff had four each. Keilahna Castillo totaled 16 digs.

The Thunder will be back in action on Oct. 12 when it will travel to Kalamazoo for a 7 p.m. match.
