ANGOLA, Ind.-- Hot shooting and a balanced scoring effort led Trine to a 71-48 non-conference victory over Anderson Tuesday evening at Hershey Hall.

The Thunder shot a blistering 52 percent from the field (26-of-50) and connected on 10-of-22 (46 percent) from long range in the victory. The 10 treys were a season-high for Trine. Nick Tatu led the way from the perimeter, with a season-high five threes. Tatu scored 16 points for his second double-figure scoring effort of the season. Tyler Good provided balance from inside the arc with 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting to go along with four rebounds. Good has scored in double-figures in three of the Thunder's four games to open the season. Trine improves to 2-2 on the year. Anderson falls to 0-6.

Todd Watkins added 11 points for Trine. Jake Bagley and Tarvis Malone accounted for the rest of the Thunder's barrage from deep. Bagley connected on three-of-five from beyond the arc for a nine-point night. Tarvis Malone hit all three of his field goal attempts, including both tries from distance, on his way to a season-high eight points. The two threes were a career-high for Malone.

Max Mollaun led the way for Anderson with 11 points of 5-of-12 shooting. He added three rebounds. Steven McCann notched eight points, three boards and three assists for the Ravens. AU shot 36 percent from the floor (19-of-53). The Ravens committed 13 turnovers, which Trine was able to convert into 22 points.

A 11-0 first half run broke open the game early for Trine. Good started the run inside with a layup, which was followed by treys by Tatu and Bagley. Good converted an old-fashioned three-point play to close the run and give the Thunder a 19-8 lead with 10:59 to play in the half. Trine led by as much as 15 before the break when a Good jumper made the score 33-18.

Anderson climbed back into the contest late in the first half with a 12-2 run to leave the outcome in doubt. Cody Jackson provided four points during the run. Four different Ravens contributed points to close the Trine lead to 35-30. AU shot 48 percent from the field in the first half (14-of-29), while Trine hit a blistering 15-of-25 (60 percent).

A layup by Jared Holmquist gave Trine a  45-33 lead with 16:51 to play. The Thunder lead would not shrink to single-digits the rest of the night. Holmquist scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds on the evening. Watkins provided a highlight-reel worthy dunk on a fast-break to push to score to 60-36 midway through the second half. The dunk capped off a 22-4 surge by the Thunder to open the second half.

Trine led by as much as 27 when a Jordan Brady layup made the score 69-42 with 4:52 to play.

Trine will return to action when they travel to Illinois Tech for a 1:00 p.m. CST tip-off this Saturday, Dec. 7.
