The Trine University men’s lacrosse team and head coach Ryan Kuhn introduced Sam Puzevic as the program’s full-time assistant coach in August of 2025.
“To say we are excited to have Sam join us is an understatement. His success as both a player and a coach speak for themselves,” explained Kuhn, “His knowledge, experience and just the virtue of him being an incredible person will have an immediate impact on all facets of our program.”
Puzevic arrives at Trine after spending the last year at the University of Dubuque as the program’s assistant coach. While there he designed and implemented offensive game plans, led individual training of the attackers and offensive midfielders, and scouted opponent defenses. He also spent time as a coach with the BJ Sprots Bandits, a youth lacrosse program in Michigan, serving in both head and assistant coach roles.
“I’m incredibly excited to be a part Coach Kuhn’s staff at Trine. Men’s lacrosse here is becoming something special and I am ready to contribute to that process,” said Puzevic, “I know firsthand the level of competition and tradition that is the standard of Thunder athletics, and it’s an honor to help lead and mentor student athletes in a league that shaped who I am.”
That firsthand experience comes from his highly successful career at Albion College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2023. He was a 100-point scorer during his senior season, earning both first team All-MIAA and USILA All-American status. All told he was selected to three All-MIAA teams during his career.
He used his final year of eligibility at the University of Indianapolis which competes in NCAA Division II. While there he made nine starts and played in 11 games, tallying 17 points.
