Burkhardt joins the Thunder Baseball Staff after spending the last two seasons as the head coach at Fremont High School, leading the Eagles to a Semi-State appearance.

Prior to his appointment as head coach he was the Eagles' assistant for seven seasons from 2016-2022.

Burkhardt is a 2015 graduate of Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio where he was a four-year member of the Yellow Jackets baseball team.

Ian and his wife Stephanie have two children, a daughter, Ripley and a son, Teague.
