Trine University Assistant Vice President for Athletics Matt Land announced that Cade Murnan-Mechor would serve as the next head coach of the university's ACHA D3 hockey team in August of 2025.

"I'm excited to see where Cade takes our program," said Land, "His developmental experience should serve our ACHA D3 program well."

Murnan-Mechor arrives at Trine having served as an associate coach for the Fort Wayne Force and as a Youth Hockey Instructor at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. As a coach he worked specifically with the defense, coordinating the core unit and developing skills. In his instructor role he prepared and coordinated training sessions emphasizing technical development, teamwork and sportsmanship. He has developed adaptive practice plans for a wide range of skill levels and athletic abilities.

"It's an honor to take on this role for Trine University's ACHA D3 team," said Murnan-Mechor, "I look forward to working with this group to create a strong culture of development and competitiveness. It will be my goal every day to push our student-athletes to their full potential and to build a team that is hard to play against every night."
