Marshall begins his second year as the Pole Vault Coach in 2025-26.
In Marshall's first year, Trine's pole vault squad won three MIAA championships, swept the top two spots at both the men's and women's Indiana DIII Championships, set five school records, and earned six All-MIAA selections. Â Ethan Spahr swept the MIAA crowns in his first year competing in the event. He ranks 4th outdoors and 5th indoors in program history in the event. He added wins at the Indiana DIII Championships and won the inaugural MIAA decathlon title. Spahr's success in the vault carried him to the national stage, where he qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon during the indoor season and the decathlon during the outdoor season. Matthew Schaefer earned All-MIAA status at the outdoor championships. On the women's side, Olivia Andrews set the indoor and outdoor program record as a freshman, becoming the first Trine woman to vault over 11 feet. She won the Indiana DIII Championships, the first for a Trine woman, and claimed the MIAA Outdoor Championship. Avery Boyce vaulted to #2 all-time at the MIAA Outdoor Championships to mark the first time Trine had two All-MIAA performers in the event. Boyce completed the 1-2 punch at the Indiana DIII Championships. The Thunder vaulters combined for 12 personal bests with a total improvement of 1.01 meters/3' 3.75"
Marshall previously worked as a volunteer assistant at Cory-Rawson High School in Rawson, Ohio, and Franklin County High School in Brookville, Indiana.
Marshall is a native of Bluffton, Ohio and attended Cory-Rawson High School. He holds a BSBA in Sport Management from Ohio Northern University and a Master's of Arts in Sport Administration from Kent State University. While at ONU, he was a four-year member of the track and field team, competing in the vault. He placed at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships four times. Marshall serves as Trine's Sports Information Director.
