Trine University athletic director Andy Rang has announced that Alexandria Wright would become the second head coach of the institution’s figure and synchronized skating programs in August of 2026.Â
“Alexandria’s experience with a highly successful program makes her a perfect fit to lead our figure and synchronized skating teams,” said Rang, “Coach Franchock did an amazing job of building our program and we thank her for her time here, but I could not be more excited to see what Coach Wright will do now.”
Wright comes to Trine after most recently serving as an assistant and skills coach with the Western Michigan University skating teams. In that position she supported athlete development and preparation while serving as a mentor for her student-athletes. She also assisted with practice planning and team operations.
She also brings coaching experience from her time working with the Hockettes Synchronized skating teams and California Gold Synchronized skating teams.
“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to lead Trine University’s skating program and want to thank Coach Rang and all of Trine, “said Wright, “I look forward to building on the outstanding foundation that Rachael established while continuing to grow Trine into a destination program for student-athletes pursuing excellence on and off the ice. I can’t wait to get started!”
Wright competed for four years at Western Michigan University where she also completed her undergraduate degree. During her four seasons with the program the team earned a silver and two bronze medals at the national championship.
