ADRIAN, Mich. – The Trine University women's tennis team came up short against their hosts from Adrian College, dropping the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual 5-2.

The Bulldogs took the first team point of the day, winning two of three doubles matches. The No. 2 team of Alexis Maloney and Emilee Bassett won their match 6-4.

Bassett finished the day as the only member of the Thunder to go undefeated. After dropping the first set of the No. 3 singles match, she came back with two set victories to take the match with scores of 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Emily Hatseras scored the other team point for Trine, also winning a decisive third set in the No. 5 match. She had scores of 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(7-2).

Trine falls to 12-4 overall and 3-3 in MIAA play. The team will next take the courts when they travel to face Hope College on Thursday, April 24. That match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
