ANGOLA, IND. -- For the third time this season, Trine University junior women's cross country runner, Evie Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Cross Country "Runner of the Week."
Bultemeyer led the Thunder at the Oberlin (Ohio) College Inter-Regional Rumble this past weekend by posting the top overall time among a field of 283 runners of 21:01.9. Her time also improved upon her school record mark in the 6K that she set earlier this season (21:29.0) at the Calvin (Mich.) College Invitational.
As a team, Trine finished 17th of 32 teams with an overall team score of 462 points.
Trine will be idle until Saturday, Nov. 2 when it competes in the MIAA Championship. The Thunder will serve as hosts of this year's championship with the race held on Trine's campus. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
