Tom Hall joined the Thunder wrestling program as an assistant coach in the summer of 2016 and was promoted to head coach in May of 2018.
In his first season at the helm, the Thunder finished with a 6-5 record in dual meet competition and placed in a three-way tie for second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in wrestling's return as a conference-sponsored sport after a 35-year hiatus. Individually, six wrestlers ended the year with 10 or more wins, including two athletes with over 20 victories. Hall's team also had success off the mat in the classroom as two individuals were selected Scholar All-American in Nick Miller and Ethan Simmons.
