The first half of the doubleheader quickly turned into a pitcher's duel, with both teams combining for just one run in the contest. In the second game, the Thunder bats got hot as they posted seven runs on the back of two homers and five doubles two come away with the 7-1 victory.
Sophomore Mercede Daugherty (Watervilet, Mich. / Watervilet) led the way for the team going three-for-four with two doubles and one of the team's home runs, finishing with two RBIs.
Sophomore Haley Springer (Crestwood, Ky. / Oldham County) and McCue also finished with two RBIs each as they both went two-for-four. Junior Michaela Hartline (Niles, Mich. / Brandywine) picked up the team's other home run in the game.
