The 2016 season will be Lang's first as an assistant soccer coach for the Thunder. Lang has served in multiple coaching capacities at Trine University since 2009.
Lang served as the head men's lacrosse coach at Trine for four years, compiling a record of 32-25. He has also served as an assistant for the team since the 2014 season. Lang has had a hand in coaching players to 32 appearances on all-conference lacrosse teams.
Lang's collegiate coaching experience also includes stints at University of Dayton, Mercyhurst College and Wittenberg University. He also accumulated time as both a player and coach on the German National Lacrosse Team.
A graduate of Baldwinsville High School near Syracuse, N.Y. Lang lettered in soccer, hockey and lacrosse. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Movement and Sport Science from Purdue University and 1993 and later earned a Master's Degree from Purdue in Exercise Physiology.
Lang spent 12 years serving in the United States Marine Corps as a tank mechanic and reached the rank of Sergeant. He spent six months in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait fighting in the first Gulf War.
Lang resides in Angola and has two sons, Nick and Cole. Nick was an All-MIAA Second Team performer for the Trine men's soccer team in 2015.
