ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine men's ACHA D2 hockey team defeated Cleveland State University by the score of 19-0.
The Thunder scored their first goal of the game in the fourth minute of the first period. Adam Schaffer scored the goal and Brandon Bornkamp and Joe Laskero garnered the assists.
It would not be the last time that Laskero or Bornkamp would be a part of the scoring summary. Bornkamp would finish the night with four assists and three goals, for the second most points on the team. Laskero would finish first on the team in points with nine. He finished the night with seven assists and two goals.
Chris Timm would lead the team in goals with four on the night, while Luka Znidarsic with his three goals would be the third Thunder player to finish with a hat trick or better in the game.
Trine will next take the ice when they travel to face Grand Valley State University on Friday, Oct. 13 with puck drop scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
